Rd 5 Carrick Gravity Enduro

Last weekend saw the final round of the the the Irish Gravity Enduro Racing Season at carrick woods country wicklow...and boy it ended with everyone stocked off there heads, buzzing for next year.
Carrick was a no go zone for a week prior to the event as there was a 5 minute penalty to anyone who pre practiced it before the official practice day on Saturday, but that didn't affect me since I haven't been to carrick since last winter.

Saturday - practice day

It was was a early start Saturday morning to arrive for 8:30 to sign on and stick a few others in a wave and by 11 we where off to hit the stages with scott Wallace, Marcus barry, John connaly & Jordan kelly. The stages where mint so fast and dry (the weather gods were good to us ) A good few stuff I would have to make sure to remember to get race by race day Sunday. With all the trails done and lines picked it was all ready to hit the road home to bed.

Sunday - Race day

With the sun scorching and the sky blue and cloudless we all knew carrick would deliver the goods it dose best, fast & flowey goodness.
My wave was for 10:52 with Jordan kelly, Marcus barry and John connaly and friends.

Stage 1 : one of the coolest trails, so flowey yet its not all flowey downs. It had some small techy kickers and lung busting sprints.

Stage 2 :  stage two has always been my favourite when I visit carrick with its super fast and flower single track with some jumps to give it that extra flavour.

Stage 3 : Stage three was new and interesting with a steep fast dusty start into a tight loamy forest, there was no time to lose concentration.

Stage 4 : This was just flat out fun woops and techy riding that was just so fun. Few sketchy moments too haha
Stage 5  : The best and the longest stage of the day had to be the old downhill trail. Unbelievably flat out and technical, made the race to end with it.

Had such a fantastic weekend, was chuffed with my result to, best result yet in enduro so far.  Soon I'll be up there holding the trophies 
I placed 10 in my category with a time of 18:49 and I also placed 84th out of 300 riders.

Me at 2:53 at the end of stage five getting a bit wild in the Gravity Enduro video
